Shaw Healthcare
Brief: Shaw Healthcare manages 80 care homes across the UK. They provide residential and nursing care services for the elderly and people with mental health needs, brain injuries and learning disabilities. Working alongside their PR agency, AR Communications, we were asked to come up with an internal communications solution to show just how much the client cares for their 4,000+ employees too.
Solution: Remedy produced a quarterly magazine, christened it ‘Your Shaw’ and developed an initiative called ‘Newshounds’ to give ownership to Shaw Healthcare’s employees. Shaw Healthcare’s Newshounds are volunteer roving reporters that gather news stories from their local areas. The stories are uploaded to a secure area of the Shaw Healthcare website, then edited and supplied to Remedy.
Result: After 5 editions, Your Shaw has established itself as an integral part of the client’s communication strategy. It is well received by staff and management alike, and because news is generated internally, it also provides invaluable content for their external PR.
