Brief: 1 in 10 children in the UK have some form of communication difficulty. Without help, they quickly become frustrated, disruptive or literally ‘seen and not heard’. We were asked to create an engaging magazine full of articles, tips and resources that would help pre-school and primary school practitioners work with the most challenging children in their classes.

Solution: The key to this project’s success was in delivering complex information in an easy to read format. We adapted existing corporate guidelines, introducing new colours, friendlier typefaces and bright, colour photography to create a lively quarterly publication.

Result: The first issue of Early Talk went out in Spring 2007 and the magazine is now circulated to teachers, classroom assistants and Speech and Language Therapists all over the UK.
