Animal Aid – Horse Racing

Brief: Having produced hard-hitting short films on factory farming and vivisection, Animal Aid knew we had what it takes to produce a short viral movie highlighting the grim facts behind the horse racing industry to journalists, MPs and the general public.

Solution: Every year, hundreds of horses are ‘raced to death’ in the UK. After viewing hours of racing footage, it was decided that the falls that lead to fatal injuries were the most immediate way of delivering the campaign message. The resulting film is powerful, distressing and did exactly what we set out to do.

Result: The movie was distributed to journalists at key points in the racing calendar and could also be viewed on the Animal Aid website. It drove unprecedented amounts of traffic to the site, was nominated at the Beyond TV Awards and was also shown at the House of Commons.
