Adopt a Word
Brief: As part of an online fundraising project for Children’s charity, I CAN, Remedy was asked to create a new brand identity for ‘Adopt a Word’. The brand is aimed at anyone looking for an alternative charity gift, and etymologists and lexicographers (that’s word lovers to you and me).
Solution: Remedy created a warm and friendly brand identity that quickly communicates the campaign idea. We applied the new branding to the website, adoption packs, interactive ‘widgets’, press advertising and merchandise.
Result: The word spread, and in the first five months, there were more than 50,000 word searches and over 1,000 adoptions (double the average conversion rate for a charity fundraising site). Celebrity adopters include an MBE, an OBE and even a Spice Girl!
