Remedy Creative helps Womankind launch their journey around the world

Monday, March 12th, 2012

Women’s human rights charity, Womankind Worldwide, has launched a virtual march around the world to help celebrate International Women’s Day 2012. The digital campaign was created by Kent based agency, Remedy Creative, following a creative workshop held with the Womankind team in January.

The campaign has been devised to raise awareness of the work of Womankind’s partner organisations in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Every visitor to the Womankind website who joins the virtual march moves a marker forward 10 miles. The journey started on 7th March 2012 on the Greenwich Meridian and it is hoped that enough people will sign up to travel all the way around the globe.

Womankind – Online campaign by Remedy Creative

Sarah Jackson, Womankind’s Communications and New Media Manager, said:

“Nowhere in the world do women enjoy the same rights or opportunities as men. But they can transform their lives and their communities if they have the right support. We are asking people to show their support for the women and men around the globe who are fighting against discrimination, poverty and violence.”

International Women’s Day is the biggest date in the calendar for the women’s sector, and Womankind needed a strong idea to capture people’s attention and to engage with new audiences.

Lisa Casson, Remedy’s Managing Director, said:

“We worked through some top line ideas with the Womankind team and their input was invaluable in helping us to fine-tune the journey concept. We are proud of the campaign and with over 6000 miles achieved in the first two days, initial results are encouraging. We hope the campaign will continue to spread the word about Womankind and the very important work that they do.”

Sarah Jackson added:

“We’re very pleased to have been able to work with Remedy on this project. I’m not sure there are many other agencies that would have been able to turn it around in just six weeks! They were flexible and listened carefully to our feedback. Plus their design was spot on, it has hardly changed since we first saw it.”

Update: The campaign ended with over two thirds of people that signed up, opting in to receive emails. Womankind were keen to keep the map integrated within their website so we came up with a solution that enables it to work as a standalone page. Additional functionality allows users to explore the incredible work that Womankind does all over the world. View the interactive map now

Remedy is really happy to have been chosen by The Chip Works to help with their brand and marketing communications strategy. The Sussex-based company supplies their professional micro-chipping system (Pet-ID) across the UK and is used by vets and zoos to chip everything from Dachshunds to Giraffes! They also provide pet insurance and accessories to discerning pet owners.

Following a three-way pitch, Remedy devised and hosted a brand workshop as the first step to determining a brand strategy. Over the next few months we will be evolving the brand architecture, creating a new e-commerce website, marketing literature and exhibition stand.

This is what the Sales Director of Pet-ID, Sarah Fry, told us: “We’re delighted to be working with Remedy Creative. This project is a huge step for Pet-ID and one we have taken with some trepidation, however, having met several agencies we immediately felt comfortable with you. You quickly understood our ethos and plans for the future. We look forward to our partnership developing and a successful re-launch later in the year.”

Press Release: New digital project for East Sussex County Council won by Kent agency

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

A Kent marketing communications agency has been chosen to produce a new online history timeline for East Sussex County Council.

Remedy Creative, based in Tunbridge Wells, will design and develop the interactive Time Tunnel project, which will explore the rich history of the region and key events from the Neolithic period to the present day.

East Sussex County Council commissioned the online project following a highly successful exhibition at the 2008 South of England Show, which illustrated key points in the region’s history.

It is hoped the comprehensive online resource will help local residents and school children easily access a wealth of historical data, archive material and images.

Featuring a navigable timeline that will allow users to quickly browse historical facts and information for each century or time period, the Time Tunnel will also include a fascinating selection of local images and photographs.

East Sussex County Council’s web services manager Rachel Smith said: “The original Time Tunnel display proved so successful with visitors that we were inspired to develop the idea for our website.

“We wanted to bring a wealth of historical research and archive information held in the county to a wider audience, so the idea of an online incarnation was born.

“The interactive timeline will be a simple, easy-to-use tool that will enable residents to learn all about the county’s history and discover how the past has shaped the area we live in today.”

Jason Hunt, senior designer at Remedy Creative said: “We are delighted to have been asked to develop this project.

“The timeline is a complex project both in terms of design and technical detail, with a lot of data to manage and turn into a simple, user-friendly resource that can be accessed by everyone.

“The end result will be a fantastic point-of-reference, where users can quickly discover important facts and information on the county’s abundant history.”

Remedy Creative has previously worked with East Sussex County Council to re-brand and re-design their intranet portal, and help develop the design of their website – www.eastsussex.gov.uk

Press Release: Creative communications agency chosen by innovative start-up

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

An innovative business start-up selling furniture and art online to people buying holiday homes in Morocco has turned to a Kent-based creative agency for website design and development.

VillArt, which is based in Tangiers, has used Tunbridge Wells design and digital experts Remedy Creative to launch its new online service this month (May).

Remedy Creative was asked to develop a strong brand identity, website and digital information brochures that would appeal to a European audience.

With three language options – English, French and Spanish – www.villart.net is a fully content-managed, e-commerce website.

VillArt is the first e-tailer to offer high-quality handmade contemporary furniture and artwork that fuses Moroccan design with a European aesthetic.

Aimed at tourists, ex-pats and property developers wishing to furnish their property in style but with minimum effort, VillArt supplies complete furniture packages for one-bedroom apartments to four-bedroom villas and hotels.

VillArt managing director Jo Bichet said: “Remedy Creative worked hard to understand our brand offering and key messages, and has produced a highly visual, user-friendly website that will appeal to anyone regardless of which country they live in.”

Remedy Creative managing director Lisa Casson added: “It’s been great to work with a company that’s breaking new ground.

“The brand and website we’ve created for VillArt integrate modern European design with traditional Moroccan elements to reflect their core values.

“Building the site’s multi-lingual, multi-currency functionality was our first priority. The next step will be to focus on honing search optimisation and looking at ways in which we can create brand awareness among UK investors with property interests in Morocco.

“With VillArt based in Morocco, we’ve relied heavily on technology to communicate, and proven that it’s not necessary to be geographically close to successfully build a strong client relationship and effectively meet their requirements.”

Press Release: Sunshine Kids launch new consumer advertising campaign

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

Sunshine Kids Cuddle Soft

A striking new consumer advertising campaign has been launched by Sunshine Kids – a children’s travel and safety accessories firm – in a bid to boost brand awareness and increase market share in the UK.

Conceived and developed by Kent-based Remedy Creative, and commissioned by Practical Media Services, the creative campaign marks a dramatic shift in approach by Sunshine Kids.

Inspired by the look of vintage Ladybird story books, and using illustrations rather than photography, the ads feature key Sunshine Kids products such as the award-winning Monterey car seat and other car safety and travel accessories.

Sunshine Kids launched the new campaign at the Harrogate Nursery Fair – the nursery industry’s leading annual trade show (22 – 24 March) – and via nursery trade web sites www.nursery-online.com and www.nursery-today.co.uk

Supported by the biggest marketing spend since Sunshine Kids hit the UK seven years ago, the advertising campaign will run for a minimum two-year period across the parenting and automotive press.

Remedy Creative creative director Jonathan Wilcock said: “The distinctive visual approach and language inspired by vintage Ladybird books will help to create a strong brand presence for Sunshine Kids.

“We chose to use illustrations rather than lifestyle or product photography to help them stand out from their competitors.

“In addition, pictures add charm and help to tell a story that would be much more contrived using photography.”

Nick Butler, managing director at Crowborough-based Practical Media Services, who have worked with Sunshine Kids for six years, added: “Sunshine Kids have slowly increased their exposure in the UK over the past few years.

“However, last year the company took the decision to significantly up their game with the intention of grabbing more market share and emphasising their position as a leading company designing, manufacturing and selling child safety travel products worldwide.

“Sunshine Kids tasked us to find a creative agency and Remedy Creative won a three-way pitch. The collaboration has been highly successful and resulted in a stunning, high-impact campaign that will achieve great results.”

Press Release: Agency Collaboration

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

“Kent’s marketing and creative agencies are increasingly adopting alternative business practices to beat the recession and maintain positive growth,” says Remedy Creative boss Lisa Casson.

In the last six months, Lisa, who runs a creative agency in Tunbridge Wells, has seen a growing number of advertising, marketing, PR, design and media firms collaborating together to win pitches and work on projects jointly.

“The current economic climate is encouraging some regional agencies to explore new ways of working together to foster creativity and broaden skill sets, which is great news for businesses and brands.” said Lisa.

“Although working with other agencies is not a new practice, I have never seen a time when so many companies are working in partnership for mutual benefit – and I’ve been in this industry for 15 years.

“What we are noticing is that rather than recruit permanent staff or expand the company and service offering, agencies are seeking out complementary businesses to partner on specific projects to make use of specialist experience and create new opportunities.

“This ensures creative firms continue to deliver high quality work to the customer and maintain their specialist skills and core offering, while allowing them to compete on a more even footing with some of the larger London-based agencies.

“It’s a practice that Remedy has increasingly adopted. In the past few months, we have worked in partnership with four other Kent agencies, including PR and media buying companies, on a range of projects from advertising campaigns and online marketing to concept work for competitive pitches.

“There’s a lot of work out there. Most companies understand that they need to continue with their marketing to retain their brand position and market share.

“Instead of turning to London agencies, clients are looking to talented regional agencies that can be more competitive on cost but still deliver great campaigns and services.

“By staying lean and flexible, Kent’s creative firms are in a great position to ride the storm.  Meanwhile, businesses get to benefit from the current pooling of talent.”

Set up six years ago, Remedy is a fast-growing full-service creative agency that produces effective marketing communications for a wide range of companies, from charities to large corporations.
